It is really difficult to take a good photograph of a city from above. You have to find some sort of pattern or focus in the composition so that it doesnt just represent a random jumble of rooftops.

I hope i got it right with this shot, showing on the right hand side the main square of the inner city and the 19th century city hall and on the left side the ruined tower of the church of st Nicholas (Built in the 19th century after a fire destroyed most of the inner city and at the time the tallest structure in the world).

Amazing... how did you capture this shot? Were you standing from a particular high point at the time?

yes, i was standing in the top of a church spire. apparently it is the highest publicly accessible vantage point in the city.
