A view of the great aquaduct that provided the water for the great city of Antioch in modern day Turkey. After the end of the roman era, the inmortance of the city declined untill the country was finally taken over by the turks. Since they had no need for defences, they turks settled in the nearby valley, rather than the acropolis and the city dissapeared under the sand for centuries.

great shot! I'm dyeing to visit this place, even though im told all that is left from the original citadel are stones, it still has great significance!

Dont you have any plans to come visit the middle east?

indeed, there is not much left there in Psidian Antioch. but those structures of which more than the foundations have been preserved (the rock-cut temple of the imperial cult and the structure tentatively identified as a bath house) are very impressive. And so is the location itself. The views are wonderfull.

Very nice picture :) It may only be stone, but if they could talk, I am sure they would tell some amazing tales
